Track And Field Senior Salute: Martina Rodriguez Sala

The University of Memphis track and field/cross country program's celebration of its 2018 senior class continues with the next of the 23 Tigers seniors.

Wednesday's first senior salute is Martina Rodriguez Sala.

Won conference gold in the indoor mile in 2016 and 2017 and also in the outdoor 1500 meters at last weekend's championships

In addition to her three golds, earned bronze in the 1500 meters at the 2015 league meet
Scored points in seven of her eight American Athletic Conference Championships appearances (indoor/outdoor combined)
Two-time NCAA East Preliminaries qualifier in the 1500 meters in 2015 and 2016
School record holder in the indoor mile, indoor 3000 meters, outdoor 1500 meters and outdoor 5000 meters
Set both outdoor school records this spring

Helped lead the Tigers to their highest team finishes at a conference race (3^rd) and NCAA region race (10^th) – both in 2016 – in program history
The Tigers also jumped into the NCAA regional rankings for the first time in program history in 2016 and remained in the poll for a school-record five-straight weeks
Four-time American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team member
2016 U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic in cross country
Two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic in track and field (2014-15, 2015-16)

Received her bachelor's degree as a double major in biology and physics in the spring of 2017
