Track And Field Senior Salute: Mary Betsy Minkler

The University of Memphis track and field/cross country program's celebration of its 2018 senior class continues with the next of the 23 Tigers seniors.

Friday's final senior salute is Mary Betsy Minkler.

Two-year member of the Memphis track and field distance group and cross country team
Transferred to the University of Memphis from Williams Baptist College (Walnut Ridge, Ark.) prior to the 2016-17 year
Ran in two American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships (2016, 2017)
Member of the 2016 cross country squad posted its highest finish at a postseason conference race, placing third
The 2016 Tigers also were ranked in the regional poll for the first time in school history and remained in the poll for a school-record five weeks
Ran in the NCAA South Region Cross Country Championships as a member of that 2016 team
Posted a personal-best 6k time of 22:46.2 at the 2017 Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
In her two cross country seasons at Memphis, had three top-25 finishes, with her best performance coming at the 2017 Austin Peay Festival (2^ndplace)
Competing in her third American Athletic Conference Championships meet (indoor/outdoor combined) this weekend
Set personal-bests in both the 5000 and 10,000 meters this spring
A 2016-17 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honoree
A biology major at the University of Memphis
