Track And Field Senior Salute: Arnica Zitting

The University of Memphis track and field/cross country program's celebration of its 2018 senior class continues with the next of the 23 Tigers seniors.

Tuesday's next senior salute is Arnica Zitting.

Transferred to the University of Memphis from Arkansas State prior to the 2016-17 campaign
Ran distance events and was an integral member of the cross country program
Four-time American Athletic Conference Championships competitor (indoor/outdoor combined)
Scored points in the 10,000 meters in both league outdoor meets and placed fourth in the event at last weekend's championships
Set the school record in the 10,000 meters at the Raleigh Relays in late March
Ran a school-record 36:26.35 in the event
Had six top-three performances in her distance appearances at Memphis
Member of the 2016 cross country squad that posted its highest finish at a postseason conference race in program history, placing third
The 2016 Tigers also were ranked in the regional poll for the first time in school history and remained in the poll for a school-record five weeks
Placed 12^th at the 2017 American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships and earned all-league honors
Posted her best 6k time (21:26.3) at the 2016 conference race
Had seven top-20 finishes in her cross country career as a Tiger
2016-17 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team member
Graduated from the University of Memphis May 5 with a bachelor's degree in marketing management and a minor in political science
