LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Memphis softball team picked up another win today with a dominating 11-6 win over Manhattan before dropping their second game of the day 3-1 to host school McNeese State.

Following today's games, Memphis moves to 5-8 overall.

MEMPHIS: 11, MANHATTAN: 6
How it happened:

Camryn Wineinger and Gracie Morton got the Tigers on the board in the top of the 1^st inning when they scored off a passed ball to make it a 2-0 game.
Manhattan would tie the game up for the first time in the bottom half of the 1^st inning off a two-run homerun from Annie Moore.
Morton, Alexis Dale and Taylor Smrt all recorded RBI hits in the top of the 2^nd inning extend Memphis' lead out to 6-2.
Once again, Manhattan would tie the game, this time in the bottom of the third off three RBI hits and an unearned run.
Ryleigh Aungst would bring the game-winning run across the plate in the top of the 5^th inning off a single to right field that sent Presley Morris home.
Dale and Morton would add in RBI hits to push the Tiger's lead out to 10-6.
Aliana Zavala would tack on one more insurance run in the top of the 7^th inning with a solo shot to center field. The Tiger's 11-6 lead would hold and give them their second win of the tournament.

Notables:

Eight different Tiger hitters reached base today with Morton leading the way with three hits while Dale and Kendall Lee both recorded a multi-hit game.
Jenna Gibson got the start against Manhattan going 2.1 innings. Zoey LeCompte recorded the win after 3.2 innings of work with one strikeout. Hallie Siems finished the last inning of work with three strikeouts.

How it happened:

Gracie Morton got the Tigers on the board in the top of the 3^rd inning when she sent a ball down the right field line to bring Sam Ibison across home plate.
McNeese would take the lead in the bottom of the 3^rd inning off back-to-back errors from Memphis to make it a 2-1 ballgame.
The Cowgirls would add in one final run in the bottom of the 5^th inning to extend their lead out to 3-1.
The Tigers would attempt to rally back in the 6^th and 7^th innings but were unable to produce any more runs and suffered the 3-1 loss.

Notables:

Alexis Dale, Gracie Morton and Sam Ibison all recorded hits tonight.
Hallie Siems got the start against McNeese State pitching the complete game with seven strikeouts recorded.

Memphis will take part in the final day of The Evangeline Bank and Trust II Invitational. They will face-off against UNLV with first pitch scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
