Bawden leads Tigers with 2-under 142 through 36 holes, Jackson shoots 146
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Bradley Bawden finished at 2-under 142 after 36 holes Monday at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate to place the University of Memphis in contention at Wexford Golf Club.
Â
Temple was in the lead at 11-over 587 when play was suspended with several groups still on the course. Furman (12-over) was one stroke back, followed by Davidson College (15-over) and Memphis (17-over). Furman, Davidson and Memphis had golfers on the course when play was suspended.
Â
In addition to Bawden, three other Tigers – Isaiah Jackson, Borja Martin and Rodi Vlasveld – were able to finish. Jackson shot a pair of 73s for 146, while Martin had a pair of 77s for 154. Vlasveld also finished at 154 after a 75 and a 79. Chase Harris was the lone Tiger on the course when darkness ended play. Harris opened with a 2-over 74 and was at 7-over through 17 holes when play was suspended.

The Tigers opened strong in their first spring tournament. After 18 holes, the UofM was in a three-way tie for first with Temple and High Point College at 4-over 292. Memphis, however, dropped back in the second, shooting 13-over with Harris on the course.
Â
Temple's Trey Wren is in first place at 4-under 140 through 36 holes, two strokes ahead of Bawden. Wren was one of only three golfers in the 19-team field to post a score in the 60s.
