Wang Earns Ben Hogan Award Golfer of the Month Nod

FORT WORTH, Texas – University of Memphis men's golf athlete Yixiang Wang has been named as a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award October Golfer of the Month honor, the foundation announced Thursday.
The Ben Hogan Award Golfer of the Month will be chosen by a selection committee comprised of foundation members from the Ben Hogan Award and Friends of Golf as well from as the award's selected partners. In addition, a Fan Vote on social media through Thursday at 11 p.m. (CT) will give the top vote getter on each of the @benhoganaward social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) a bonus committee vote. The winner will be announced on Thursday.
Wang is joined by Bryan Kim (Duke) and Nate Stevens (Notre Dame) on the list.
Wang, who has dominated the courses during the fall season, claimed the individual champion crown at the Steelwood Collegiate where he finished the tournament seven under par. The junior out of Dailan, China helped Memphis win the Quail Valley Collegiate as a team where he tied for career best three-round score (203). He also shot a career-low (63) in the opening round of the tournament in route to a share of second place in individual play.
Wang also collected a top five finish at the Cullan Brown Invitational (T4th) after finishing four under par (138) in the shortened tournament.
The Ben Hogan Award presented by Baird annually recognizes the top collegiate golfer considering all college, amateur and professional events played over the 12-month period beginning with the 2025 NCAA Championships and running through the 2026 NCAA Regionals.
