Women’s Tennis Falls 5-2 to Miami (Ohio)

Morga wins at three singles.
MEMPHIS – Playing a neutral site match in Lincoln, Neb., the University of Memphis women's tennis team (1-6) won the doubles point and got a straight set win at number three singles from junior Marta Morga, but fell 5-2, Saturday.
Memphis won at one and three doubles to take an early 1-0 lead in the match, but Miami came back with wins at five and six singles to take the lead. Morga got Memphis a second point, but the other three singles matches all went three sets as both Hanna Sohn and Kathryn Hughes won their opening sets, but dropped a second and third set. Freshman Janina Berres came back from a 7-5 first set loss to win her second set at number four, 6-2, but fell 6-2 in the third.
The Lady Tigers will remain in Lincoln and will face host Nebraska, Sunday, at 11:30 a.m. Nebraska downed Miami, 4-3, on Friday. Live scoring will be available at http://www.huskers.com/fls/100/16WTennis/xlive.htm.
