Tigers’ Season Ends in 4-1 Defeat to North Texas

HOUSTON, Texas – The University of Memphis women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to North Texas on Tuesday afternoon at the George R. Brown Tennis Center in the opening round of the American Conference Championship.
Memphis came out strong in doubles play, claiming the opening point with wins on courts one and three. The duo of Sofiia Mykhailets/Emma Dvorackova secured a 6-4 victory on court one, while Alicia Mall/Rebecca Frant added a 6-3 win on court three to give the Tigers an early 1-0 advantage.
In singles, North Texas responded by taking control of the match, winning four courts to secure the team victory. The Mean Green picked up straight-set wins on courts six and one to take a 2-1 lead in the match before earning a hard-fought victory on court two to go up 3-1.
The clinching point came on court five, where North Texas battled back after dropping the opening set to defeat Clemence Thouard in three sets.
Several matches remained unfinished at the time of the decision. Natalia Koppova led in the third set on court three after splitting the first two sets, while Emma Dvorackova also forced a third set on court four before play was halted.
Memphis wraps up its spring season with a record of 2-17 and will look to reclaim the American Conference title in 2027.
