Women’s Tennis Begins Title Defense at Conference Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's tennis team will travel to Houston, Texas to compete in the American Conference Women's Tennis Championship, beginning Thursday, April 16.
A season ago Memphis won the Conference Tournament at home, defeating No. 4 seed Tulsa 4-2 in the championship game to earn an NCAA tournament bid. The win secured Memphis' second American Conference title with the first coming in 2022.
The Tigers claimed the No. 11 seed in this year's edition and will begin their title defense when they face No. 6 seed North Texas in the first round at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Memphis finished the regular season with a 2-16 record, highlighted by a 4-3 upset over No. 52 Columbia at Leftwich Tennis Center on February 28.
Sophomore Sofiia Mykhailets has been a star for the Tigers this season, posting a 10-2 record at line one singles, second most of any player in the conference at that position.
