• Freshman Kimber Bossom became the first Memphis player this season to strike out the side, picking up two K's looking and one swinging in the first inning.
• Junior first baseman Leila Dolfo hit her first double of the season in the eighth inning, a two-run shot. She also stole her first base in the inning and scored a run.
• Redshirt-freshman shortstop Heather Mott hit the Tigers' first triple of the season in the eighth inning. The triple scored senior center fielder Lindsay Kelso from first. Mott finished 2-for-4 with a run scored.
• Junior Brittany Gooch scored the game-winning run in the eighth inning after beginning the frame on second due to the International Tie Breaker. Dolfo knocked in the game-winning run with her double.
• Freshman Kim Sirman collected her first collegiate hit in the eighth inning as a pinch hitter. She also stole her first base in the inning.
• Sophomore second baseman Tori Gross stole her first base of the season in the eighth inning after drawing a walk.
• Memphis had three stolen bases in the eighth inning.
• The match-up between Memphis and Bethune-Cookman is the first in the two program's histories.
• Three freshman pitchers combined for the Tigers' first shutout of the season. Memphis scattered five hits with two walks and nine strikeouts.
• Freshman Janelle Valle earned her first collegiate victory after pitching three innings in relief.
