Caton’s Walk-Off Home Run Completes Senior Day Comeback against Florida Atlantic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Freshman Taylor Caton made sure to send the Tigers' senior class off with a win with a walk-off two-run home run to complete a three-run comeback victory for the Tigers on Senior Day at Tigers Softball Complex.
In what could have been a common situation of errors spelling disaster for Memphis (18-35, 6-18 American), the Tigers pulled off a rally with two outs in the seventh inning to take the series finale over Florida Atlantic (31-18, 12-12 American).

- Both sides worked out of early trouble to stay scoreless through the first.
- Memphis turned a double play in the top half after a throw back to third on a flyout confirmed Florida Atlantic's runner leaving early.
- The Owls worked past a one-out double by retiring Memphis' third and fourth hitters.
- After a clean second inning, Kennedy Semien led off the third with a triple and came home on a sacrifice fly by Kayla Clement to give Memphis a narrow lead.
- The sacrifice fly forced a Florida Atlantic pitching change.
- Two runs came across for Florida Atlantic in the fourth due in part to a Memphis throwing error on a walk and stolen base attempt.
