Mar 30, 2026 | Softball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team is set for a key midweek matchup, hosting Ole Miss Tuesday night for Memphis' Salute to Service game.
First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m., with Tyler Springs on call for the broadcast on ESPN+.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis (11-24, 2-10 American) is looking to build off a 7-6 series finale win over Tulsa that saw the Tigers overcome a four-run deficit, capped off by a pair of home runs by Jasmine Mack and American Conference weekly honorable mention, Faith Brown.
Ariel Davis still sits as the team's leader in batting average (.384), hits (38), runs (25) and home runs (six), but Faith Brown has emerged after a strong week to come into the midweek game with five home runs and 20 RBI, a mark that is tied with Davis for the most on the team. Memphis' third hitter above the .330 mark is Jasmine Mack, who is close behind the team leaders with five doubles, four home runs and 19 RBI, including four RBI in Memphis' 7-6 win over the Golden Hurricane.
In the circle, Memphis continues to pitch by committee, with Mya Clark most recently recording her second win of the year in five scoreless innings of relief on Sunday. Avery Stutts and Taylor Caton have shown strength as young arms, with Stutts leading the Tigers in innings pitched (69.1) and strikeouts (29), while Caton trails close behind with 28 strikeouts in 38.1 innings.
SCOUTING THE REBELS
Ole Miss (23-15, 2-10 SEC) is coming off a series victory over No. 4 Tennessee, where every game in the series was decided by one run.
At the plate, over half of the Rebels' lineup have over 30 hits on the season, led by Persy Llamas' 46, while Madi George's 16 extra-base hits are a team best. Llamas, a two-way sophomore, was also high school teammates with current Tiger, Jazmine Chavez. George has dominated in her first collegiate season racking up team-highs in home runs (10) and RBI (31) while carrying a 1.228 OPS. Cassie Reasner and Mackenzie Pickens have also surpassed the 20-RBI threshold on the season.
Ole Miss' pitching staff has held opponents to just a .242 batting average, with Kyra Adcock and Emilee Boyer each having thrown over 80 innings, while Lilly Whitten has a team-best 2.83 ERA over 47 innings. Boyer sits as Ole Miss' strikeout leader with 79, with Adcock adding 44 while only walking 42.
SERIES HISTORY VS. OLE MISS
The Tigers trail 2-10 in the all-time series with the Rebels, having fallen in their most recent matchup in 2024 by a score of 9-0. Only three Tigers that appeared in that loss are on the 2026 squad.
