Tigers Wrap up Regular Season, Earn No. 6 Seed in AAC Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. – After a nearly seven-hour weather delay, the Memphis women's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 4-1 loss to No. 75 Tulsa Monday evening at the USTA National Campus.
The defeats halted a four-match win streak and moves the Tigers to 8-12 heading into the American Athletic Conference championship this week.
Tulsa (13-10) swept the first two doubles pairings to get the early point.
In singles, after the Golden Hurricane doubles their advantage with a win at No. 1, Emily Meyer earned a 7-5, 6-4 victory on court four to put Memphis on the board.
Tulsa clinched the match with three-set wins at the second and third positions to end play.
The AAC Championship will begin Wednesday (April 19) at the USTA National Campus. Tournament seedings were based on ITA team rankings, giving Memphis the No. 6 seed.
The Tigers will open their AAC title defense at 8 a.m. CT Wednesday against 11th-seeded Cincinnati (8-13). The winner will play No. 3 South Florida (13-8) at 11 a.m. Thursday.
