Nov 09, 2023 | Softball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Head Memphis Tiger softball coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro announces Mia Brown to her 2024 class.
Brown, a 5'11" first base/utility player out of Fayetteville, Tenn., comes to Memphis after a successful prep career at Lincoln County High School.
"Mia Brown is an impressive signee for the Memphis Softball roster. Not only is she a strong first baseman and a power left-handed hitter, but I expect Mia to be an impact player right away and make her mark on the program," VanBrakle Prothro said. "During her recruiting process I knew she would be a great fit fot what we are trying to build. I can't wait for her to wear Memphis across her chest."
Brown was named to three straight all-district teams (2021-23) and the 2022 district MVP. She was also named to the 2022 all-state team, the 2022 Elk Valley Player of the Year and a 2022 Mid-south player of the year finalist. Brown also made it to the final four of the Tennessee AAA state tournament.
"I feel like I've worked so hard and faced so many different mental and physical struggles to get to here," Brown shared. "I have worked to get to this moment, and I wouldn't want to spend my next four years anywhere else! Little Mia would be so so proud of all she has accomplished. Go Tigers!"
