HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alcorn State plated two in the first, with a total of five walks and one wild pitch putting Memphis at an early deficit.
- Memphis responded in the bottom half with an individual effort by Paris Brienesse. Brienesse singled in her at-bat and then stole both second and third before scoring on a throwing error by the Lady Brave defense.
- After Ariel Davis singled and Jaila Mitchell reached on a hit-by-pitch, Deana Cunningham stepped up and sent a shot to right center for a three-run home run.
- Paris Brienesse and Isabella Hune were stranded at second and third after both reached and recorded a stolen base.
- Rylee Dugar pitched the final outs of her 2.2-inning outing by inducing a popout double play to end the third inning.
- After a leadoff triple by Faith Brown, Zereniti Sousa singled through the left side on the first pitch of her at-bat to bring Brown home.
- Avery Stutts entered in relief to start the fourth, striking out one in her first of four innings of work.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Taylor Caton doubled to left center to bring Paris Brienesse around to score.
- Brienesse had reached on a bunt single to start the inning.
- After Caton advanced to third on obstruction, Jasmine Mack took a 3-0 pitch to deep center field for a sacrifice fly.
- Stutts struck out two more as she closed the game with four scoreless innings to earn the win.
- Now with 34 team home runs, Memphis' 2026 squad is tied for the fourth-most home runs in a single season in Tigers history.
- Memphis now has 60 stolen bases on the year, good for eighth-most in program history and eight shy of Memphis' total from 2025.
- Memphis' 52 doubles are the ninth-most in single-season program history.
- Memphis' 35 hit-by-pitches as a team would rank 35th nationally as of right now.

- Memphis' now 12 triples are tied for the third-most in single-season program history.

- Cunningham also moves into fourth in single-season defensive assists with 115 after tonight's win.
- Taylor Caton finished with a 1-for-2 performance after entering as a pinch hitter and notching an RBI double.

- Kylie Waldrep finished with a hit in her lone plate appearance, also stealing a base.
- Waldrep is one of three Tigers (Deana Cunningham, Faith Brown) with a perfect 1.000 stolen base percentage with at least five attempts.
