HOUSTON, Texas. – Looking to snatch a win over the Cougars in the final game of the series, the Tigers took the field at Cougar Softball Stadium. But, Houston's offense continued to shine through day three and the Tigers faced the 6-0 loss.

Following today's game, Memphis moves to 13-23 overall and 1-5 in AAC play.

How it happened:

Houston's offense would score in the bottom of the second, third, fourth and fifth innings.
Memphis challenged the Cougar's defense in the top of the first inning after Gracie Morton and Alyssa Dean opened play with back-to-back hits. But they would end up stranded after Houston's defense rallied for three consecutive outs.
The Tigers would get base runners right off the bat in the top of the second and third innings in Linsey Hargis, Taylor Smrt and another base-hit from Dean.
La'Nya Bates and Morton would reach base in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, but were left stranded as the Tigers would face the 6-0 loss.

Notables:

Gracie Morton led the team at the plate today going 3-4 with a double while Alyssa Dean recorded two hits.
Mikayla Hoschak got the start today going 4.0 innings while Hallie Siems and Kailey Hilderbrand made appearances today.

UP NEXT

The Tigers will return home for a doubleheader with Alcorn State on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Tiger Softball Complex.
Memphis will hit the road again next weekend when they take on the Knights of UCF. The series will begin Friday afternoon at 5 p.m.
