MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After over a week of being on the road, the Tigers played host to the Lady Braves of Alcorn State and came away with the 4-3 and 11-2 wins.

Following today's game, Memphis moves to 15-23 overall.

MEMPHIS: 4, ALCORN STATE: 3
How it happened:

Memphis took an early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Linsey Hargis had an RBI-single to left field that scored Camryn Wineinger.
Hannah Bassham added to the Tigers' lead when she drove in Taylor Smrt to make it a 2-0 game.
The Tigers would get another run in the bottom of the third inning when Alyssa Dean stole home after Alcorn State's catcher threw to second to try and pickoff Wineinger.
Hargis would cap off Memphis' scoring in the bottom of the sixth with a solo shot over the center field fence to extend their lead out to 4-0.
The Lady Braves would string together an attempted comeback in the top of the seventh inning after a double to center field cleared the bases and make it a 4-3 ballgame. The Tigers would come back with consecutive outs to claim the 4-3 win.

Notables:

Linsey Hargis led the team with two hits, including a homerun, while three others recorded hits.
Hallie Siems got the start today and pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts and only four hits allowed.

How it happened:

After Alcorn State took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Memphis would come back with consecutive homeruns in the bottom of the first and second innings from Gracie Morton to make it a 3-1 game.
The Lady Braves would get another run back in the top of the third before the Tigers opened up shop in the bottom half of the inning.
Ryleigh Aungst got things rolling when she hit a sac fly out to center field that allowed Linsey Hargis to tag up and score.
The very next batter, Aliana Zavala, would push the Tigers lead out to 6-2 after a two-run homerun over the left field fence.
Hannah Bassham, Gracie Morton, Brianna Lucero and Camryn Wineinger would all end up crossing home plate before the end of the third inning to give Memphis their largest lead of the day at 11-2.
The Tiger defense would hold strong in the fourth and fifth innings to claim the 11-2 win.

Notables:

Kailey Hilderbrand got the start for game two going 3.0 innings with one strikeout. Jenna Gibson finished off the remaining two innings with just three hits allowed.
Gracie Morton had a stellar game two going 3-4 from the plate with a pair of homeruns while Linsey Hargis, Kendall Lee and Aliana Zavala all recorded a multi-hit game.
