Hargis Homers as Tigers Fall in Extras to Houston

HOUSTON, Texas. – Despite getting on the board early today, the Tigers would not be able to outlast the Cougars and suffered the 5-4 loss in 10 innings.
Following today's game, Memphis moves to 13-22 overall.

How it happened:
- Camryn Wineinger got the Tigers on the board in the top of the first inning when she singled to left-center field that brought Gracie Morton across the plate for the 1-0 lead.
- Houston would take the lead in the bottom half of the first inning off a double steal attempt that led to Amanda Carden stealing home while Kati Ray Brown drove in Becca Schulte.
- Memphis tied the game back up in the top of the second inning when Kendall Lee reached on an error by the Houston shortstop that allowed Linsey Hargis to come home to make it a 2-2 game.
- Hargis put Memphis up again in the top of the sixth inning when she smacked her second homerun of the season on a full count.
- After Houston added another run in the bottom of the sixth inning, Wineinger recorded her second RBI of the game when she singled up the middle and drove in Morton to give the Tigers the 4-3 lead in the top of the ninth inning.
- The Cougars would tie the game again in the bottom of the ninth inning and end up with the tenth inning win off an RBI-single from Brown and handed Memphis the 5-4 loss.
- Gracie Morton, Kendall Lee and Camryn Wineinger all recorded two hits each today while Wineinger led the team with two of the team's four RBI.
- Mikayla Hoschak got the start today going 6.1 innings with four strikeouts while Hallie Siems finished off the remaining 3.1 innings of work with two strikeouts and just two hits allowed.
