How it happened:
- The Tigers got to LHP Ethan Brown (ND) early, as LF Ian Bibiloni put Memphis in front 1-0 with a two-out RBI single in the second inning, while 1B Chris Swanberg made it 2-0 with a two-out third inning RBI double
- Brown limited the damage in both innings, as the Tigers stranded four on base across the two frames
- After Durham faced the minimum over the first two innings, the first three Bulls to bat in the third reached base, as DH Sonny Rao tied the game with a two-run triple, while 3B Carmine Lane followed with a go-ahead RBI single that put South Florida in front 3-2, a lead the Bulls never relinquished
- Two South Florida singles in the first three batters of the fourth knocked Durham out of the game, while Lane greeted RHP Chase Kessinger with an RBI single and CF Jackson Mayo followed with a three-run home run, as South Florida led 7-2 after four innings
- The Bulls added an insurance run in the sixth on an RBI single by Lane, and another in the eighth on Lane's fourth RBI single of the game, which made it 9-2 South Florida, the eventual final
Notables:
- SS Ben Brooks was the only Memphis starter to record multiple hits, as he beat the shift twice for his 11th multi-hit game of the season, tied for the most on the team
- Coming off the bench, DH Jacob Compton went 0-2 and had his 25-game on-base streak snapped
