Rodriguez Caps Spectacular Season with American Championship All-Tournament Team Selection

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis baseball senior third baseman Freddy Rodriguez was named to the 2026 American Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team, the conference announced on Sunday.
Rodriguez posted outstanding numbers throughout the Tigers' four games in the conference tournament, hitting .529 (9-for-17) with four runs scored, two doubles, one home run, two RBI, a walk and two stolen bases. He led all Memphis hitters in batting average (.529), runs scored (4), hits (9), extra-base hits (3), total bases (14), slugging percentage (.824) and on-base percentage (.556).
During his 2026 campaign at Memphis, Rodriguez sparked the Tigers' offense from the leadoff spot while providing steady defense at third base. The highlight of his season came on May 12 at Middle Tennessee, when he broke Memphis' single-season stolen base record of 39. Rodriguez finished the year with 45 stolen bases, leading the American Conference and ranking third nationally. Rodriguez also ended the season leading the Tigers in batting average (.300), hits (68), and walks (35).
