How it happened:
- Memphis struck right away, as CF Zach Wilson led off the game with a double, 3B Logan Kohler followed with a walk, and a single by SS Ben Brooks loaded the bases with no outs in the first inning against Lord
- DH Jacob Compton followed with a bases loaded two-run double, which put Memphis in front 2-0 four batters into the game, a lead the Tigers never relinquished
- The Tigers added a run in the third, as Wilson led off the frame with his second double of the game and later scored on an RBI groundout by Kohler, as Memphis led 3-0 after 2.5 innings
- Fowler gave up leadoff singles in the third and fourth frames, and while both runners eventually scored, the left-handed starter limited the damage to one run in each inning and kept Memphis ahead 3-2 after four
- Memphis scored the game's next four runs, as Kohler picked up an RBI on a groundout in the fifth, Compton led off the sixth with his fifth home run of the year, and Kohler and Brooks had back-to-back RBI singles in the seventh, as Memphis led 7-2 after 6.5 innings
- After five innings from Fowler, LHP Jacob Gilmore worked a scoreless sixth, while Kendrick allowed one run and struck out four over the final three innings, which secured Memphis' 7-3 win
Notables:
- Kohler and Compton each drove in three in the win, the fourth time each has had at least three RBIs in a game, tied for the team lead
- Compton's two-hit afternoon was his team-best 11th multi-hit game of the season and extended his on-base streak to 25 straight games with 25 RBIs over that stretch
- Brooks and Bibiloni each extended their hit streak to five games
Up Next:
- Memphis will head into the finale Saturday with a chance for their first conference series sweep of the season, with first pitch set for 10 a.m.
