KENNESAW, Ga. – The University of Memphis women's golf team began competition at the Pinetree Women's Collegiate at the Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga. on Monday.
The Tigers shot rounds of 310-306 to end the day in a tie for ninth with a score of 616 (+40). Host Kennesaw State leads the 12-team tournament with a total of 587 (+11).
KEY MOMENTS
• Junior Brooke Veres headlined the Memphis effort on Monday, carding rounds of 78-74 to end the first two rounds in a tie for 17th with a score 152 (+8).
• Classmate Victoria England is tied for 24th overall after 36 holes with a score of 153 (+9). England shot rounds of 76-77 on the day.
• Freshman Katie Stinchcomb is tied for 28th place with a total of 154 (+10), while fifth year Julia Matzat is tied for 43rd with a score of 157 (+13).
• Sophomore Rebecca Brink finished the day tied for 58th with a total of 163 (+19).
