At the plate, Baylee Smith leads the way for the Tigers with a .407 batting average, with three triples and four home runs. Against DePaul and Indiana State, the Tigers enjoyed back-to-back home runs in each game. The back-to-back home runs hit against DePaul marked the first time the Tigers had perfomed such a feat in a game since 2011.
In the game against the Blue Demons, Ryleigh Aungst and Regan Hadley powered shots over the fence to give Memphis the lead. The next game, against Indiana State, Ashley Threatt and Aungst launched bombs to center field to secure the lead over the Sycamores. Adding on to the weekend tally of homers, Delaney Smith crushed her first collegiate home run over the fence in the Monday game against IUPUI.
Memphis had three pitchers pick up wins over the weekend, as Bayleigh Wisher, Karli Perque and Mariah Nichols combined to allow five earned runs while striking out 19 batters. Nichols leads the Tigers pitching corps with a 2.26 ERA and 40 strikeouts on the year. Nichols and Wisher both have four wins on the year.
On a national level, Regan Hadley is third in the NCAA in sacrifice flies, tallying four on the young season. Baylee Smith and Delaney Smith are tied for 21th in the nation in triples, each hitting three.
A Look At The Rebels
Ole Miss comes off of a series win over No. 14 Arkansas after picking up a 6-2 win in the rubber match on Monday. Molly Jacobsen won her eighth game of the season after pitching 4.1 innings, striking out six and allowing zero earned runs. Offensively, the Rebels used four runs in through three innings to take an unconquerable lead over the Razorbacks.
Kylan Becker leads the Rebels with a .449 batting average, with 31 hits and four triples. Becker is one of two Ole Miss players to have notched 10 or more stolen bases, as she and Kaylee Horton have combined for 23 on the season. As a team, Ole Miss has stolen 56 bases, while only allowing opponents to steal five.
In the circle, Jacobsen leads the way with a 0.88 ERA, recording 50 strikeouts and allowing only seven runs in 12 appearances. She carries an 8-1 record into the week. As a staff, the Rebels carry a 1.89 ERA with 123 strikeouts.
