Tigers Look to Carry Momentum into Series with Baylor

Memphis enters the weekend after back-to-back midweek wins
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis takes a break from American Athletic Conference play, hosting Baylor for a three-game weekend series at FedExPark. Memphis and Baylor will play Friday at 4:30 p.m. due to possible weather later in the evening.
The Tigers and Bears will continue the series Saturday at 2 p.m. with the finale on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both teams are looking to carry some midweek momentum into the weekend.

The Tigers and Bears have met eight times with Baylor holding a 6-2 advantage. The teams last met in Waco, Texas in 2012 with Baylor sweeping a pair of games.
For the first time since its opening in 2010, FedExPark will play host to a team from the Big 12 Conference. The Tigers last hosted a Big 12 team a year after the conference's formation, hosting Baylor at Nat Buring Stadium in 1997.
Memphis hosted former Big 12 team Missouri in 2013, during the program's first season as a member of the SEC. The Tigers played current Big 12 member TCU at home in both the 2003 and 2005 seasons as C-USA rivals.
The Tigers begin a season-long homestand, playing seven-straight home games starting Friday. Memphis will host back-to-back weekend series at FedExPark for the first time since February.
2011 World Series Champion and friend of the Memphis baseball program, Jason Motte will be recognized in a pregame ceremony on Saturday. The Motte Foundation raises money for cancer research, all while providing comfort and care for those affected by cancers of all kinds. With back-to-back wins this week, Memphis has only won two-straight games on three occasions this season. This is the first time since 2005 that the Tigers have failed to win at least three-straight games during the first eight weeks of the season. The 2005 team went the entire season without a winning streak.
The Tigers leading hitter, senior outfielder Tyler Webb is top-25 in the NCAA with 14 doubles. Webb is batting .310 with a team-high 20 runs scored. His 16 RBI are the third-most on the team.
