Softball Travels To UConn To Conclude Regular Season Play

Final regular season series set for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Storrs, Conn.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team will end the 2017 regular season the road at UConn for a three-game series starting Friday at 3:00 p.m. CT. Weather is expected in the Northeast; therefore, times may be adjusted.

- Memphis heads into the final weekend of regular season play with a 26-25 overall record after going 1-2 last weekend against Houston. Memphis won its first game against the Cougars since 2015 last Friday with a five-run comeback in late innings.
- Lindsay Crowdus continues to lead the Team offensively with 79 hits and a .470 batting average. She ranks second and third, respectively, in those categories.
- Lindsey Stickrod was just named an Academic All-District First Team selection. She is now in a position for a potential spot on an Academic All-American team.
- The Tigers are sitting in fifth in the American Athletic Conference while UConn sits in seventh. The Tigers will need one victory this weekend to solidify the fifth spot in the conference.
- Head coach Natalie Poole is in her sixth season at the helm of the Memphis program.

- UConn is 16-28 overall and 2-12 in American Athletic Conference play.
- This weekend, the Huskies will honor its three seniors, Kayla Doty, Valerie Sadowl, and Taylor Townsend.
- Junior Emma Stanley leads the team with a .323 batting average throughout conference play and overall, freshman Carli Cutler is hitting .315.
- UConn holds a 5-3 overall record against Memphis, but Memphis has defeated the Huskies in two out of the last three meetings.
- Katie Koshes leads the team in the circle with a 2.76 ERA in 94.0 innings pitched. She has struck out a team-high 112 batters.
