SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis (17-31, 5-16 American) looks to build off its first conference series win of the season over North Texas this past weekend.
Memphis' offense has become more balanced in the late stages of the season. While Faith Brown and Ariel Davis continue to carry top marks across the stat sheet, they are now two of five Tigers hitting over .300 on the season. Brown's .368 batting average and 33 RBI are team highs, while Davis leads Memphis in hits (48) and runs (30) and the two are tied for the team lead in home runs (7) and doubles (9). Neely Taylor (.311 AVG) is also tied with Brown and Davis with nine doubles. Paris Brienesse (.337 AVG) and Jasmine Mack (.305 AVG) round out Memphis' .300 hitters, with Brienesse's 15 stolen bases leading the Tigers and Mack sitting second on the team in RBI with 25.
Avery Stutts has been Memphis' leader of the pitching staff through the season, now sitting at 6-8 with two saves and a team-best 45 strikeouts over 94.2 innings. She has found support in Mya Clark, who now has a team-low 4.03 ERA with a 4-5 record after pitching a complete-game shutout against North Texas, the first shutout in conference play by the Tigers since 2021. Both Rylee Dugar and Taniyah Brown have ERAs below 4.00 in limited usage this season as well.
SCOUTING THE BLUE RAIDERS
Middle Tennessee (17-26, 5-16 CUSA) is coming off a series defeat at the hands of New Mexico State this past weekend.
The Blue Raiders have used a multitude of ways to put runs on the board offensively. Jana Want (.325 AVG) is MTSU's leading hitter with 40 hits and 25 RBI on the year, while Ansley Blevins holds the best power numbers with 10 home runs and a .563 slugging percentage. Sophomore outfielder Macie Harter carries a team-best .469 on-base percentage with 32 walks and 19 stolen bases, ranking in the top-50 nationally in stolen bases per game (39th; 0.50) and walks per game (22nd; 0.84).
