Mack’s Three-Run Shot Completes Memphis’ 9-7 Series-Clinching Comeback

Memphis (17-31, 5-16 American) surged out to a 5-2 lead before North Texas (26-21, 14-7 American) answered back to lead 6-5, and a four-run sixth inning by the Tigers produced enough of a lead for Avery Stutts to close out the game in the seventh.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Mya Clark kept the Mean Green scoreless in the first, Ariel Davis sent a no-doubter to left center for a two-run home run.
- Neely Taylor scored on the home run after reaching on a leadoff double.
- Memphis played its own style in the second with a leadoff walk by Kennedy Semien and a sacrifice bunt by Jaila Mitchell that set up Taylor Caton, who came through with an RBI single.
- North Texas answered with two runs in the third on a two-RBI double by Elizabeth Moffitt.
- In the bottom of the third, Memphis matched North Texas with two runs of its own on a two-out, two-RBI triple by Taylor Caton.
- The previous at-bat, Mitchell lined out into a double play after North Texas' Madison Conley threw out Jasmine Mack at home plate.
- The Mean Green sprung ahead with a four-run fourth to take the lead.
- North Texas' four runs came on five consecutive base hits.
- After Taniyah Brown entered in relief to start the fifth, she worked out of a bases-loaded jam with a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning.
- Memphis used small ball to start what eventually became a four-run sixth inning to retake the lead.
- Paris Brienesse reached on a bunt single, followed by sacrifice bunts by Neely Taylor and Ariel Davis, who both reached on their sacrifices due to North Texas fielding errors.

Tickets will be free for all current University of Memphis students. Up to two fans ages 17 and under will be allowed free admission per paid adult that enters with them. Please note that tickets for children ages 17 and under will be for the standing room only section. Reserved seating tickets must be purchased if adults would like them to have a seat in the bleachers.
As a reminder, fans are not permitted to bring umbrellas into the venue and Tigers Softball Complex has a clear bag policy.
