- The Tigers added a much-needed insurance run on an RBI double by Brylee Butts.
- It was Butts' second career hit and first career RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Starting pitcher Taylor Caton worked through trouble early, inducing two popouts with runners on second and third.
- Faith Brown logged the first hit of the game by either side with a single up the middle to lead off the second.

- In the bottom of the third, LSU added two more on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and an RBI groundout.
- Memphis had a chance to get on the board in the fourth with the bases loaded but Deana Cunningham struck out on a full count.
- After the first three runners reached, LSU added insurance on an RBI double play and a two-run home run off the bat of Maci Bergeron.
