Moeller, Soares Named to All-AAC Team

MEMPHIS – Senior Camila Soares and freshman Leonie Moeller were named to the American Athletic All-Conference team, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
It is the second yearly honor of Soares' career and the first for Moeller, marking the seventh-consecutive season the Tigers have placed someone on the All-AAC squad.
Soares posted 18 combined victories this season across singles and doubles with 14 of those wins coming at the No. 1 position.
She went 10-7 in singles with seven coming in straight sets and climbed as high as No. 124 in the ITA singles ranking.
The Lima, Peru native picked up eight victories alongside partners Monique Woog and Emily Meyer at the top two positions.
Soares closed the year strong with four-straight doubles wins, including a 6-4 decision over AAC Champion SMU in the title match.
Moeller helped lead Memphis this season in singles across the top two positions, picking up 13 wins in total, going 2-1 at the top position and 11-6 at No 2.
The Nordhorn, Germany native started her career with four-consecutive wins, including a 6-1, 6-4 sweep over No. 125 Oleksandra Nahurska of Tulsa in January.
In doubles action, she teamed with three different partners to grab seven wins. She grabbed three of those victories on court one alongside Emily Meyer and Camila Soares.
She earned a pair of doubles wins against No. 63 Florida Atlantic (6-3) and Charlotte (6-4) with Meyer to help lead the Tigers to a runner-up finish in the AAC Championship.
