MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis baseball team fell in game one of a three-game American Athletic Conference series, 14-0, to seventh-ranked East Carolina at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field in the Bluff City.
The Tigers dropped a to 18-24 overall (6-10 AAC) with the loss as the Pirates improved to 33-8 overall (12-4 AAC) and won their sixth-straight game.
"We saw a good arm and got beat in every aspect of the game," head coach Matt Riser said. "I thought we made a few statements out there individually to make sure that we continue to move forward. I told them after the game, 'We can let the 14 runs carry over into tomorrow, or we can get ticked off and do something about it. Ready to see the guys bounce back tomorrow."
