Memphis Drops Game Two to North Texas

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team dropped its second of a three-game series to North Texas, 15-0, Saturday afternoon at Tiger Softball Complex.
The Tigers (5-36, 1-19 AAC) struggled to find a rhythm early allowing the Mean Green (27-19, 14-6 AAC) to jump out to a quick lead. Memphis looked to rally in the in bottom of the fifth frame, loading the bases with no outs but came up short.
North Texas 15, Memphis 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
• North Texas got out to a quick lead putting up 12 runs in the top of the first inning.
• Aaliyah Dixon recorded the Tigers' first hit of the game singling through the right side in the bottom of the second. Dixon would advance to third on two stolen bases before being left stranded.
• The Mean Green extended their lead once more as Saleen Donahoe reached home on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth frame.
• North Texas continued to add to its lead widening the gap by two more runs in the top of the fifth inning, making the score 15-0.
• Dixon drew a walk to open the bottom of the fifth frame. Memphis loaded the bases on back-to-back batters hit by the pitch, however were unable to score a run.
NOTABLES
• Dixon recorded the Tigers' lone hit of the game, singling through the right side in the bottom of the second.
• Taniyah Brown got the start in the circle before Rylee Dugar entered as relief in the top of the first frame. Dugar pitched five innings and recorded x strikeouts.

• The Tigers will close out their series with The Mean Green, April 21, at noon at Tiger Softball Complex.
