Memphis Heads to Florida for AAC Tournament

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team will travel to Belleaire, Florida, to compete in its final tournament of the season at the American Athletic Conference Championship. The three-day tournament opens Friday, April 19 and will run through Sunday, April 21.
The Tigers are looking to finish the season strong after multiple strong performances throughout their fall and spring showings. Memphis recorded three top-three finishes this season along with an individual win from freshman Diego Lourenco at the Gulf Coast Collegiate on February 27.
Last season, Memphis placed fifth in the AAC Tournament while Esteban Vazquez secured a top-10 finish for the Tigers (T-6th overall).
The 54-hole tournament will be played on the course at Pelican Golf Club on the par-70, 6,881-yard course. The teams will play 18 holes on Friday followed up with 18 on Saturday and Sunday as well.
The 12-team field will be comprised of Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Memphis, North Texas, Rice, SMU, South Florida, Temple, UAB, UTSA and Wichita State.
