MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The 23^rd-ranked University of Memphis men's tennis team fell 4-3 on the road to No. 37 Middle Tennessee on Easter Sunday in Murfreesboro.

The loss ended the Tigers' six-match win streak and dropped them to 14-4 on the season, while the Blue Raiders improved to 15-9.

Conor Gannon and Harry Rock got doubles started with a 6-3 win on court two before Middle Tennessee pulled even with a 6-3 win on court one over No. 34 Pablo Alemany and Charlie Barry.

The Tigers bounced back and took the point from court three as Pau Fanlo and Juan Zabala earned a 6-3 victory.

In singles action, the Blue Raiders came out strong and took the first three matchups, including a 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 win on court one from No. 32 Leo Raquin over No. 64 Alemany.

Memphis got another point from the No. 2 position as Gannon swept Ondrej Horak 7-5, 7-6(5). At the No. 5 spot, Moritz Kudernatsch was up in the third set 4-6, 7-6(10), 4-1 when his opponent retired to bring the match even at 3-3.

Middle Tennessee clinched the match from the bottom of the lineup with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(2) come-from-behind win.

UP NEXT
The Tigers are back on the road next weekend with a trip to Tulsa on Friday at 6 p.m. and then a noon matchup at SMU on Sunday.
