Men’s Tennis Claims No. 3 Seed, Heads to American Conference Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to compete in the American Conference Men's Tennis Championship, beginning Thursday, April 16.
Memphis is ranked 59th in the latest ITA poll and has reached the final of the conference championship in three of the last four seasons, falling 4-2 to No. 1 SMU in 2022, suffering a 4-3 defeat to No. 6 Charlotte in 2024 and dropping a 4-2 decision to No. 5 Rice last season at Leftwich Tennis Center.
The Tigers earned the No. 3 seed in this year's tournament, marking the fifth straight top three seeding for Memphis at the American Conference Championship. With the No. 3 seed, Memphis earns a first round bye and will face the winner of No. 6 Tulsa and No.11 UTSA in the quarterfinals on Friday, April 17.
Memphis closed out the regular season with a 12-11 record, including conference victories over UAB, Florida Atlantic and Tulane. The Tigers' most recent match ended with Memphis knocking off No. 48 Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro.
Junior captains Moritz Kudernatsch and Maxime Dubouch have led the way all season. Dubouch boasts an 8-7 record at lines one and two while Kudernatsch has five wins of his own at line one. Graduate student Leandro Zgraggen has also come through for the Tigers, going 8-4 in singles matches, with victories at line four, five and six.
Tiger duo Sam Reeve/Marcos Castro Fabra are 71st in the latest ITA rankings and are 8-5 as a team this season. Obrad Markovski/Marko Milosavljevic claim the best doubles record on the team at 12-7, including 10 wins at line three.
