Memphis Heads to the Queen City for Series With Charlotte

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team will hit the road for the first time in American Athletic Conference (AAC) play as they travel to the Queen City to take on Charlotte this weekend, March 15-17.
The Tigers (3-19, 0-3 AAC) dropped their first conference series at home at Tiger Softball Complex last weekend to Tulsa. Memphis is looking to turn things around and get back in the win column this week in its first ever matchup with Charlotte.
McKaylee Polk has tallied at least one hit in seven of the last eight games, including a hit and a run in the Tigers' 8-2 loss to the Golden Hurricane on Saturday afternoon.
A pair of Tigers are hitting .300 or higher: Polk (.327) and Zoe Adebayo (.313). Adebayo leads the Tigers with a .500 slugging percentage, followed by Polk with .449. Adebayo leads Memphis with nine RBI on the season, followed closely by Khamiyah Brown who has tallied seven and Madison Berner with six.
Charlotte (13-9, 2-1 AAC) is coming off an 8-4 victory over No. 12 Virginia Tech at home in on Wednesday night. The 49ers are boasting a three-game win streak heading into their first home weekend of AAC play.
Charlotte is batting at a .238 clip as a team while allowing opponents to hit a .240 average. The 49ers have three players hitting over .300: Arianna Rodi (.362), Abigail Knight (.319) and Kiyah Garrett (.308).
The Golden Hurricane have a team ERA of 4.94 and is led in the circle by Kylee Nash with a 3.72 ERA, recording three wins in 29.0 innings of work.
