Tigers Compete in Qualifying Round of ITA Central Regional

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's tennis team kicked off the qualifying round of the ITA Central Regional with four Tigers competing.
Miriam Grosmann started things off for Memphis against conference foe Tayla Wilmot of Tulsa, falling 1-6, 2-6 to move onto the consolation bracket. Carlota Farres Carreter put up a fight against Nebraska's Emma Rizzetto with a 4-6, 6-4, 3-6 final score while Rebecca Frant fell to Anne Knuettel of Wichita State.
Clemence Thouard was the final Memphis player to compete today, going head-to-head with Veronika Kulhava of Kansas State. Thouard, along with her teammates, all moved on to the consolation bracket following their first matches of the day.
After a walkover and a bye in the second round, Grosman will now go up against Minnesota's Nora Knezevic. Farres Carreter took a 6-2, 6-1 win over Emmerson White of Saint Louis and earned herself a bye to now go up against Yuzu Miyoshi of Nebraska while Frant will take on Yinong of Minnesota following a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Lucy Loy (Nebraska).
