MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis men's tennis team finished off a perfect week at home with a 6-1 victory over Indiana Sunday afternoon at Leftwich Tennis Facility.
The win improved the Tigers to 4-0 on the season.

"I thought we came out very quick in doubles today. I was especially impressed with Same Reeve." head coach Chris Doerr said. "It was his match for the Tigers and he was a huge part of breaking the first game and then finishing things off.

"In singles, it was another performance down low. Moritz is getting his first action for us and handled things great. Juan continues to impress me with more dominant performances, and I was also glad to see Pablo get to finish a match. It isn't easy to play No. 1, but Pablo does a great job."

Memphis got the match started on the right foot once again, taking the doubles point. Conor Gannon and Harry Rock earned a 6-2 win at the No. 2 spot, followed by a 6-3 victory on court three from Sam Reeve and Pau Fanlo.

The momentum carried into singles for Memphis, as the Tigers quickly swept their first five matches in straight sets before the Hoosiers were able to get the final point on court two.

Juan Zabala blanked his opponent in the first set on court five, en route to winning 6-0, 6-3 over IU's Luc Boulier. At the sixth spot, Moritz Kudernatsch took a 6-1, 6-4 decision, while Pablo Alemany won 6-4, 6-3 on the top line.

Harry Rock won 6-4, 6-4 on court four and Conor Gannon battled to a 6-2, 7-6(4) win on court two.

"As a team we obviously have had a good start," Doerr said. "I know we can improve which is also exciting. Our depth of squad is really showing and is a huge reason why we really believe in ourselves this season."

UP NEXT
The Tigers will be back in action next weekend with a trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan where they will take on No. 9 Stanford on Saturday and either No. 14 Michigan or Nevada on Sunday.
