No. 10 Memphis Looks to Bounce Back At Tulane Sunday on ESPN2
Jan 20, 2024 | Men's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 10 University of Memphis Tigers are coming off a loss to South Florida on Thursday, but they have a quick turnaround this weekend, hoping to get back in the winner's column.
The Tigers make the trek to New Orleans to face off with Tulane on Sunday at noon from Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2.
Memphis (15-3, 4-1 AAC) comes into the matchup fresh off a disappointing 74-73 home loss to South Florida on Thursday after holding a 20-point lead in the second half. The Tigers were riding the nation's fourth-longest win streak at 10 games as the defeat was their first since Dec. 2 at Ole Miss.
Things won't get any easier for the Tigers as they enter an arena where they've dropped two-straight visits and haven't won since 2020.
Tulane brings an 11-6 overall record into the weekend and sits in the middle of the pack in the league standings at 2-3. The Green Wave have dropped three of their last four outings, including an 83-69 loss on the road at UAB Wednesday night.
Five players are averaging double figures for Tulane, led by Kevin Cross' 17.1 points per game. He is also the team's top rebounder (8.1) and assist man (4.6).
UP NEXT
Memphis will get a few days to rest following its trip to The Big Easy before hitting the road next Sunday (Jan. 28) for UAB. The Tigers and Blazers will tip at 4 p.m. on ESPN.
