Memphis Falls in Sunday Games to South Florida
May 01, 2023 | Softball
TAMPA, FL – The Memphis softball team fell in both games of their double header against South Florida on Sunday. The Tigers (8-39) dropped their unfinished game from Saturday afternoon 8-0, before falling 5-0 in the final game of the series. Memphis struggled to bring in runners on base throughout the series and were unable to capitalize off defensive plays.
"I thought we showed some good stuff offensively and defensively, but we need to get some better quality starts out of our pitchers and we need to come up with some key hits when we have runners on base, we keep talking about that." Said head coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro. "Softball is simple and we're going to continue to work through the process. We need to continue to do better there and find ways to help ourselves."
