Tigers Earn First Conference Win in Series Final Against Tulsa
Apr 02, 2023 | Softball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis softball team recorded their first conference win in the series final against Tulsa, defeating the Golden Hurricanes 8-5 Sunday afternoon. The Tigers (6-29) recorded eight runs off 12 hits in the match up to hold off the series sweep.
"Really proud of the team today, I think they came back and fought. I got onto them on Friday, they were competing, but we just feel short especially with better pitches in big situations, and that's what we needed," head coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro said. "I'm really proud of how they bounced back and how we prepared and stuck with our plans. I really hope that this continues to build, and we keep going up."
