MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger softball team will head back on the road after a month of hosting games as they travel to take on Ole Miss Tuesday, March 28 at 6 p.m. The Tigers (5-26) are looking to bounce back from a series sweep against Houston last weekend.
"Really looking forward to this week. We should be excited to play them, it's another quality game for us," head coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro said. "Then we head to Tulsa to continue in conference play. We are going to continue to stick with the process and hope to see the progress we are making in the games."
Ole Miss (19-14) is sitting on a two-game losing streak heading into the match up on Tuesday. The Rebels have a signature 5-1 win over No. 10 Arkansas on March 24. Ole Miss split the series with LSU going 1-2 over the weekend. The Rebels are sitting at 12th in the SEC rankings with a 1-5 record so far on the season.
Memphis struggled over the weekend against Houston, dropping its three games. The Tigers recorded three runs in their final game on Sunday after going scoreless on games one and two on Saturday. Sam Ibison leads the Tigers with a .348 hitting average, followed closely by Kendall Lee with a .316 average. Ibison and Lee also top the Tigers with 24 hits and 10 runs each. Meagan Chism and Aliana Zavala lead the team with 14 RBIs each with Lee following with 12 RBIs.
