How it happened:
- Memphis struck first, as the Tigers got back-to-back doubles from C Brennan DuBose and 2B Braden Webb off of LHP Connor Linn (ND) and led 1-0 after 2.5 innings
- The Bearcats tied the game in the fourth on LF Griffin Merritt's conference-leading 17th home run of the season, a solo blast that led off the fourth against LHP Dalton Fowler (ND)
- Later in the fourth, 2B Wyatt Stapp and RF Paul Komistek connected on back-to-back RBI singles, as Cincinnati led 3-1 after four frames
- The Tigers rallied with two outs in the fifth, as Webb connected with his second hit of the game, while LF Ian Bibiloni tied the game with a two-run home run, his fifth home run of the season
- The score remained 3-3 until the top of the ninth, when the Bearcats needed three different pitchers to get through the frame
- Bergmann started the ninth and gave up singles to two of the first three batters that he faced, which caused Cincinnati to go back to the bullpen and bring in RHP Garrett Harver
- Harver walked Bibiloni, which loaded the bases with one out, while RF Blake Daniels put Memphis in front 4-3 with a sacrifice fly
- SS Ben Brooks made it 5-3 Memphis with a two-out RBI single, while DH Jacob Compton followed with a two-run double that made it 7-3 Memphis, the eventual final
- In relief of Fowler, Wimberley allowed just two hits over four scoreless innings as he closed out the Memphis win
Notables:
