Apr 05, 2022 | Softball
MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The Anna Maria Aquanauts, a new team within the Florida Gulf Coast League, has announced current Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach Miranda Rodriguez as their head coach, the team announced on Monday night.
Â
"I am so excited about being selected as the head coach for the Aquanauts this summer," said Rodriguez. "The game of softball has blessed me with so many opportunities and I'm overjoyed that this one allowed me give back to the game and these athletes."
Â
Rodriguez, who works with infielders, outfielders and hitters, came to Memphis after a stellar collegiate career at the University of Kansas where she was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree and was named to the Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll and the Kansas Athletic Directors Honor roll in all four seasons.Â
Â
"I am beyond excited about Miranda's coaching opportunity with the Aquanauts this summer," said head coach Natalie Poole. "In her first year here at Memphis, she has jumped right in and assisted us in all aspects and has built great relationships with our staff and players. I believe this coaching opportunity will continue to grow her in this profession and help prepare her for the future."
