Ole Miss Offense Too Much for Tigers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis softball team came back to the Bluff City for a single game against the Rebels of Ole Miss. While the Tigers offense picked up a bit, the Rebels would end up running away with the 11-0 win.
Following today's games, Memphis moves to 16-33.

Following today's games, Memphis moves to 16-33.
Game One: MEMPHIS: 0, OLE MISS: 11 (5 INNINGS)
How it happened:
- The Tigers would reach base early, getting a runner in scoring position in the bottom of the first inning in Alyssa Dean. But, back-to-back groundouts would strand her there.
- Memphis would then load the bases in the bottom of the second inning with two outs, but the pitching of Ole Miss would secure a strikeout and leave all three left on base.
- Gracie Morton would get within reaching distance of home plate in the bottom of the fourth inning when she tripled to deep right field but would also ultimately get stranded.
- Ole Miss was able to score in every inning tonight to secure the 11-0 win.
Notables:
- Kendall Lee led the team with two hits tonight while Gracie Morton, Linsey Hargis and Meagan Chism all picked up hits.
- Hallie Siems got the start against Ole Miss while Kailey Hilderbrand and Mikayla Hoschak both made appearances. All three recorded one strikeout each.
UP NEXT
- Memphis will hit the road once again for a single game at North Alabama on Thursday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
- The Tigers will play in their final regular season series against South Florida next weekend at the Tiger Softball Complex.
