MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Coming off a hot weekend in the Tiger Classic, Memphis welcomed the Bulldogs of Mississippi State to town. Early homeruns would threaten the Tigers early as they faced the 13-3 (5) loss.

Following today's game, Memphis moves to 12-18 overall.

How it happened:

The Bulldogs opened the game with six runs scored in the top of the first inning off homeruns from Faapito and Purvis.
Gracie Morton put Memphis on the board in the bottom half of the first inning off a solo homerun to cut their deficit to 6-1.
Mississippi State added in six more runs in the top of the fourth inning off three consecutive homeruns from Davidson, Cook and a second one from Purvis.
The Tigers got another two runs in the bottom half of the inning when Camryn Wineinger hit a bomb to center field that scored her and Kendall Lee.
Mississippi State capped off the game with a second homerun from Davidson in the top of the fifth inning to lead to the 13-3 final.

Notables:

Along with Wineinger and Morton, Kendall Lee and Brianna Lucero recorded hits tonight.
All 16 runs scored tonight came off of homeruns.
Hallie Siems, Mikayla Hoschak and Kailey Hilderbrand made appearances tonight.
