Tigers Split with South Dakota in Final Games of UofM Tournament

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tigers picked up another home win today, claiming the 2-1 walk-off win following a 10-2 loss, both to South Dakota.
Following today's games, Memphis moves to 9-15 overall.

MEMPHIS: 2, SOUTH DAKOTA: 10 (6 INNINGS) (GM. 1)
How it happened:
- The Coyotes got on the board early, scoring one run in the top of the second and another three runs in the top of the third to take the 4-0 lead.
- After two more runs in the top of the fifth, Memphis would get on the board after a South Dakota error allowed Hannah Bassham and Meagan Chism to score and cut the Tigers deficit to 6-2.
- While the Tigers tried to get closer to the Coyotes, South Dakota would add four more runs in the top of the sixth inning to extend their lead out to 10-2. While Memphis got Kendall Lee on base, and Presley Morris to pinch run, the Tigers would not be able to advance her and suffered the 10-2 loss.
- Kendall Lee picked up a hit today while Meagan Chism, Alexis Dale, Camryn Wineinger, Taylor Smrt, Zoe Adebayo and Ryleigh Aungst all reached bases on walks.
- Mikayla Hoschak got the start for game one while Kailey Hilderbrand, Hallie Siems and Zoey LeCompte all made appearances.

How it happened:
- South Dakota scored first in game two after a double play brought Charis Black across home plate to give the Coyotes a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning.
- Camryn Wineinger put Memphis on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning when she stole home to tie the game at 1-1.
- Gracie Morton, who tripled earlier in the inning, would score the game-winning run off a walk-off RBI single to right field from Kendall Lee and give the Tigers the 2-1 win.
- Gracie Morton recorded another multi-hit game while Lee, Alyssa Dean and Camryn Wineinger all recorded hits in game two.
- Hallie Siems picked up her fourth win of the season after throwing a complete game with four strikeouts.
- Memphis will head to Columbia, Tenn. to take part in the Mid-State Classic and face-off with Tennessee. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
- The Tigers will host their final home tournament of the season next weekend with the Tiger Classic. Memphis will host James Madison, ETSU and Northwestern State next Friday and Saturday.
