Tigers Move to 5-1 with 6-1 Win over South Florida

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger women's tennis team wrapped up the weekend with a 6-1 win over American Athletic Conference foe South Florida Sunday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn.
Memphis (5-1) earned the doubles point with a 6-4 win by Aran Teixido Garcia/Emily Meyer and a 6-3 victory by Monique Woog/Meredith Jones.
Teixido Garcia, Meyer and Woog also won their singles matches, and No. 95 Camila Romero earned a singles win for the Tigers. Camila Soares picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win from the sixth position as well.
Woog is now 6-0 in singles play on the year, and Meyer and Teixido Garcia are 5-0.
"It was a great conference win today," Memphis head coach Hayden Perez said. "The kids played well and were very steady at the end of sets. I love the way this team is progressing and cannot wait to get back to work this week.
"North Texas is coming to town next week, and our last four or five matches with them have always been 4-3 or 3-4. We expect a great match next week."
Memphis and the Mean Green square off Saturday at noon at Eldon Roark Tennis Center in Memphis.
