Memphis Falls to Clemson on the Road

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's tennis team fell 0-4 to Clemson in Clemson, S.C., on Saturday.
Due to injury the Tigers were forced to play shorthanded in doubles and singles. Clemson clinched the doubles point after defeating Tiger duo Natalia Koppova/Clemence Thouard on court two. Sofiia Mykhailets/Emma Dvorackova were leading the No. 23 ranked pair Jade Groen/Rinon Okuwaki 4-3 before their match was left unfinished.
Clemson took a 2-0 lead as Memphis had to forfeit line six singles. Clemence Thouard and Rebecca Frant both suffered two set defeats clinching the match for Clemson. Ukrainian Sofiia Mykhailets continued her strong string of play with a 6-4 first set win before her match was left unfinished during the second set.
Memphis falls to 0-6 and will be back in action Feb. 15 at Furman. First serve is set for 10 a.m. in Greenville, South Carolina.
