Lenton named AAC Female Field Athlete of the Week

IRVING, Texas – For the second time this season, Samantha Lenton has been named the AAC Female Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Lenton is a junior field athlete from Toowomba, Queensland, Australia, and received the weekly honor for her discus performance at the LSU Invitational last weekend. She posted a new program record with her final throw of 57.98m (190-3) and is now ranked 11thnationally. This was the best mark for the discus in the conference this season.

Her performance in Baton Rouge also led her to her fourth consecutive first-place finish, yet she has still placed in the top three in every meet of the outdoor season.

Lenton will now look forward to competing with Memphis Track and Field for the American Athletic Conference Championships next weekend.
