
Women's 4x400-Meter Relay Team Breaks Program Record at Tom Jones Memorial

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Memphis women's relay team of Kameron Scille, Ivory Davis, Dejona Simpson and Gabrielle Cross posted a program-record time of 3:32.27 in the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday night to conclude the Tom Jones Memorial.
The quartet broke a 12-year record and now hold the program's fastest 4x400-meter times in both indoor and outdoor season.
Simpson also placed third in the women's 400-meter hurdles behind a personal-best 59.41 time. She was one of four top-three finishes for the Tigers at one of the most competitive meets in the country; Jamal Mitchell placed second in the men's discus, and Gabriel Koletsi (men's javelin) and Vincent Chenier (men's 1500m) each placed third behind personal bests.
Eight Memphis athletes hit PRs over the weekend in Florida, in addition to the relay team's program record. A link to full results can be found above. The Tigers will conclude their SEC tour next weekend at the LSU Alumni Gold on April 26.
